Hove Folk Club

Home Page

Hove Folk Club means:

  • Live words, music and performance...
  • In a room above a pub: the Poet's Corner (formerly The Eclipse), Montgomery Street, Hove...
  • Usually on the first Friday of every month (but sometimes on the second), from 8pm to 11pm...
  • The Poets' Corner now does food as well as serving Harveys' fine ales...
  • And admission is a fiver minimum.

Who could ask for more?

One of the many attractive features about the Poets' Corner pub is the fact that on Fridays it continues to serve customers until midnight.  The idea is that the music ends around 11, so anybody needing to catch trains elsewhere can do so, whilst those who don't can have time for a parting glass.

Admission is on the basis of first-come, first-served on the night. The minimum cost of entry is £5 per person; but if you are not unwaged / a student / skint for other reasons / a floor performer, a voluntary donation over and above that sum would be much appreciated.

The resident is Robb Johnson (thoroughgoing singer-songwriter). Floor performers are very welcome.
